- Schedule and dispatch trucks, rail cars, and ocean shipments with goal to book the most timely service possible
- Control the driver’s pickup and delivery operations.
- Offer precise directions for pick-up and delivery services.
- Plan and dispatch personnel, teams, tools, or service vehicles to the necessary places in accordance with requests, guidelines, or requirements.
- Communicate work orders, communications, and details to the dock staff and/or drivers.
- Track shipments from pickup to delivery to receive accurate, current information on any package.
- Keep an eye on every communication within the designated areas.
- Inform staff members of travel issues such construction zones, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other dangers
- Keep track of the usage and placement of workers and/or equipment to plan services and timetables.
- Make the required arrangements for the repairs.
- Performs other duties as required
